Czechia are back in the Billie Jean King Cup final. Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova won their singles matches in Shenzhen, China, on Friday, September 25, to secure a 2–0 victory over Spain. It is the team's first appearance in the title match since their 2018 triumph.

Holding firm in two tight opening sets

Muchova started the tie with a 7–5, 6–4 win over Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. Playing in the competition for the first time since the 2022 Finals, she replaced Marie Bouzkova in the singles line-up used against Great Britain in the quarter-finals.

Bouzas Maneiro had two break points to move 5–3 ahead in the first set. Muchova held, then took three of the next four games. A decisive break in the fifth game of the second set helped her finish the job, giving Czechia a chance to settle the tie in the next match.

Noskova delivered with a 7–6(5), 6–2 victory over Cristina Bucsa. The Spaniard recovered a break and led the tie-break 4–2 before Noskova responded. Another break in the fifth game of the second set put the Czech on course for her seventh consecutive win in the competition. No doubles match was needed.

A new generation reaches the final

Barbora Strycova, captain since the start of 2026, played in the team that won the 2018 title. She now has an opportunity to guide Czechia to their 12th crown. After the semi-final, Noskova spoke of wanting to share another title celebration with Strycova in her new role.

Sunday's final takes place on September 27. Czechia will face the winners of Saturday's meeting between Italy, champions in the past two editions, and Ukraine. Spain leave Shenzhen after reaching their first semi-final since 2008.

The official highlights cover both singles matches that secured Czechia's place in the final.
