The WTA confirmed on Wednesday, October 21, that Karolina Muchova has secured the eighth and final singles berth at the 2026 WTA Finals. The Czech player will qualify for the season-ending event for the second time in her career; she also earned a place in 2023 but had to withdraw because of injury.

A campaign built across three surfaces

The qualification rewards a season defined by versatility. Muchova won the WTA 1000 title in Doha on hard courts and the WTA 500 in Bad Homburg on grass. She also finished runner-up on Stuttgart's clay and at Wimbledon, reaching four finals on three different surfaces.

Muchova completes a field that already featured Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka, Mirra Andreeva, Linda Noskova, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Elina Svitolina. Her confirmation closes the eight-player singles lineup.

Indian Wells hosts the season finale

The WTA Finals will be played on hard courts in Indian Wells from November 8 to 15. The eight qualifiers will be split into two round-robin groups of four, with the top two players in each group advancing to the semifinals.

The embedded video is an official WTA recap of Muchova's Doha title, published in February 2026. It does not show the qualification announcement, but it revisits one of the defining results of the campaign that carried her to the Finals.
