The deciding point came in doubles. Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos defeated Jakub Paul and Dominic Stricker 7–6(1), 6–2 on Saturday, September 19, at Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro. Their victory in one hour and 47 minutes gave Brazil an unassailable 3–0 lead over Switzerland and secured a place in the 2027 Davis Cup Qualifiers.

Jaime Oncins' team began the second day with the advantage earned by Joao Fonseca and Gustavo Heide's comeback wins on Friday. Matos and Luz took the first opportunity to clinch qualification. Once they had delivered the third point, the remaining matches could no longer change which team would advance.

From a tight opening set to control

The first set called for patience. Unable to secure a service break, the Brazilians needed a tie-break to settle an evenly balanced contest. There, they pulled away decisively, winning it 7–1. Luz and Matos then broke twice in the second set to complete the straight-sets victory.

The official statistics show how consistently the Brazilian pair served. They landed 58 of 66 first serves, approximately 88%, and saved both break points they faced. On return, they converted two of their six break opportunities. They finished with 78 points won to the Swiss pair's 61.

What Brazil has qualified for

Victory in World Group I brings Brazil back into the Qualifiers for the 2027 season. That is the next stage on the route to the Finals; the place secured in Rio does not yet put the team into the title-deciding event.

Brazil's winning effort combined two different paths to success: recoveries from a set down in singles and a doubles performance completed without dropping a set. Matos and Luz turned Friday's advantage into Saturday's qualification.
